Thanks + clear no + reason or boundary + optional alternative.

Avoid adding too many apologies. The more vague the message is, the more back-and-forth it creates.

お礼 + 今回は見送る + 理由/境界線 + 必要なら代替案。

関係を残したい時ほど、曖昧にしすぎない方が伝わります。

Thanks for inviting me. I am going to pass this time because my schedule is already full this week.
